Work : Comics : TransSpoof
In 1994, comic books numbered as “issue zero” were all the rage as they could act as a kind of magical, additional issue number 1 – first issues always selling better than subsequent issues. Nick and I were caught up in this frenzy, and I wanted to show off the development work we did for TransSpoof and we wanted to encourage reader feedback and more letters for our letter column. I cobbled together a special of script excerpts, early and rejected art, and layouts for Andrew, and Nick and I wrote up a special coupon questionarie to be included in Issue 2. Readers had only to check off some boxes and mail us the coupon and I would mail them Issue 0 for free. I think about fifteen people responded, which is pretty good.
